Yes, and you’re just supposed to expect it if you like the “bad” characters. It’s funny though, every character has fans, even super minor ones, and people don’t get that ettiquette.

and this is the only fandom i’ve ever encountered this in, too. i think that’s really a testament to GRRM’s ability to write characters and to make them real people, and as he said “devils and angels in the same skin.” no one is entirely good, no one entirely bad. but then you have this entire layer of fandom that’s incapable of comprehending that and still sees all the morally ambiguous types as complete pantomime villains

i had to stop tracking the petyr tag because half the posts were “ugh fuck this asshole i hope he goes out the moon door” and that’s okay because apparently you’re supposed to hate his character so people have no qualms about putting that shit in his tag

Walder Frey may be terrible, but he doesn’t represent his entire house. Roslin, Olyvar, Perwyn, and Fat Walda, to name a few, are Freys who haven’t done anything worthy of the death sentence. I also have yet to hear of Walda’s unborn children behaving in a way that could be considered “cowardly” or “inhumane.”
